Visitor Attractions
If you want to take things a bit easier, Fort William has a fine choice of visitor attractions for you to enjoy. You can visit the Dew of Ben Nevis Distillery for a tour, take a trip up on the Nevis Range gondola, see wonderful gemstones and crystals at Treasures of the Earth Exhibition or take a Crannog Cruise to Seal Island.
The Jacobite Steam Train also runs from Fort William along the Road to the Isles during the summer months. The ruins of Old Inverlochy Castle stand nearby Braemar bed and breakfast and are well worth a visit.
Outdoor Activities
The area offers substantial outdoor pursuits such as horse riding, golf, fishing, mountaineering, watersports, canoeing, hillwalking in Glen Nevis, mountain biking and ski-ing in the winter months at Nevis Range Ski Centre or nearby Glencoe.
There are also two main walks which are popular with the tourists they are called the Great Glen Way which is from Fort William to Inverness and also the West Highland Way which links Milngavie which is just outside Glasgow to Fort William.
